Would you like to join the KBG?
That’s a great question and we have compelling reasons why you’d become one of the comrades.
The time is ripe for a fresh club to provide for the needs and interests of enthusiasts who like vehicles which are a bit out of the ordinary.
A group of people with experience in a broad variety of car and motorcycle clubs have got together to create a new, refreshing club, catering to a broad interest group – as you’ll see in these pages.
We want to provide a social forum, opportunities to use our vehicles, contacts and advice – as well as to provide the benefits that Concessional Licensing affords.
We want to make suitable avenues for participation in events – creating our own and joining in others. Our own events such as coffee runs where you can take your car or bike or scooter out for an hour or two and chat with fellow members of the KBG…
And we plan to participate in bigger events, like the Classic Car Show, Classic Cars & Coffee and the Como Rotary Car Show – at which we had our first display.
To have Concessional Licensing, certain requirements must be met. This includes being an Incorporated Association, for which a Constitution and Committee are required. But we aim to be a ‘light touch’ bureaucracy – after all, we do this for our enthusiasm for the community, not for the love of paperwork…
We are keen to be really good communicators – this newsletter, email contact, a web presence, WhatsApp group, plus Facebook and Instagram are all parts of this.
And we want our interests represented – we have been accepted as a member club of the Council of Motoring Clubs.
To encourage participation by younger people, we want to make membership free for under 25 year olds.
We want to hear your thoughts on the kinds of activities KBG should be offering its members. Technical afternoons have been suggested. Who’d like to see the underneath of a Tatra on a hoist? Visits to collections too. Open to all suggestions…
Email, call or better still, turn up to an event we have planned to show your support and share your ideas.
